INVENTORY - Product Codes

Manage inventory grouping or categorizing for reporting / filtering or group discounts / surcharges / pricing

• Access
  • Inventory > Product Codes

• • click on the Product Code Browse icon

• Add New
  • click New

• • assign a Product Code and Description
  • options to establish a default Margin percentage for Inventory items assigned to this Product Code to automatically calculate the Sell Price from the cost
    • if inventory items with this Product code are sold with a lower margin, an alert can be turned on:

• • • • this message displays in Sales Orders:

• • option to establish a Surcharge to be charged in a Sales Order for all Inventory items with this Product Code (see Company Settings - Sales Order Surcharges)
  • option to establish a default Sales Department for all Inventory items with this Product Code 
  • enter the Sales Tax Exceptions where, if Inventory items with this Product Code is explicitly exempt from a Sales Tax you use, or has provincial rebates for Customers.  Otherwise, Sales Taxes will be applied based on the Customer settings will use Sales Taxes other than your default Sales Tax settings established in the Customer details, with the option of establishing Provincial Rebate(s) - see also Inventory - Sales Tax Exceptions
