INVENTORY - Accessories / Kit Components / Macro Substitutions Tab

Depending on which Inventory Type is selected, this tab will appear differently

  • Accessories (for Inventory Types other than Kitted or Manufactured) compile a list of items to be added to a Sales Order at the same time as the 'parent' item
    • click on the Accessories tab

    • Add Accessories from your inventory list into the grid to select the Inventory items
      • click  Delete to remove the selected Accessory item line
    • accept or change the Description in the grid
    • identify the Unit Quantity you would want to add to the Sales Order
      • when the quantity of the main or 'parent' item is changed on a Sales Order, it multiplies the Accessories by the Unit Qty set here
      • the quantity can be manually changed for any Accessory on a Sales Order
    • InventoryIconV3.11 Open Inventory details for the item selected to view or change anything
    • CheckBoxCheckedBlue Show options dialog on orders displays the Select Options popup which allows the user to flag which Accessories will go on the Sales Order:
             
      • alternatively, they will all go onto the Sales Order, but you can make any changes to the Accessories once they load into the Sales Order
  • Kit Components will by assembled and relieved when a Kit is committed on a Sale Order, where quantities and costs of the components roll up to the top 'parent'  itemInventoryDetailsTabTypeOptionsKitted
    • set up the Inventory item
    • select Kitted Inventory Type 👉
      • be careful as this cannot be undone once saved
    •   Save
    • Add Kit Components          InventoryKitComponentsTab    
      • click on the newly created Kit Components tab
      • add Components from your inventory list by clicking into the grid under Inventory to select the Inventory items
      • click Add to insert a Component above the line selected
      • click Delete to remove the selected component item line
      • accept or change the Description in the grid
      • identify the Unit Quantity being used for each kit
      • choose from existing Units of Measure
      • InventoryIconV3.11 Open Inventory items(s) to view / change
      • CheckBoxCheckedBlue Show options dialog on orders - present the Component list when entering the Kit in a Sales Order, which allows users to modify individual Component quantities and costs (User Settings permitting)
        • in the Select Options pop up when the item is added in your Sales Order:

          • CheckBoxCheckedBlue flag / CheckBoxUnchecked-1 unflag to select / deselect the Component Items for this Sales Order, or Select All Select None at the bottom
          • option to change quantity on each Component
          • note Total of Extended Price for all Components listed, at the bottom
        • Sales Order options                           
          • if  CheckBoxCheckedBlue Show options dialog on orders is on in the Kit settings, you will see a chevron that allows you to expand the Kit to view all Components or collapse to hide them
            • this setting will also cause Kit Components to print on Sales Order forms (ie:  Quote or Order Confirmation)
          • if  CheckBoxUnchecked-1 Show options dialog on orders is off in the Kit settings, you will not see the  chevron but can access / print Components by clicking on SalesOrderMainTabToggleKitComponentsIcon Toggle Kit Components 
       
  • Macro Substitutions established an item or group of items that will substitute the Part Number when it’s entered into a Sales Order or Production Order

    • create your new Inventory item
    • select Macro Inventory Type 
    •   Save
    • Add Macro Substitution(s)
      • click on the newly created Macro Substitutions tab

      • add Components from your inventory list by clicking into the grid under Inventory to select the Inventory items
      • click Add to insert a Component above the line selected 
      • click Delete to remove the item
      • accept or change the Description in the grid
      • identify the Unit Quantity being
      • InventoryIconV3.11 Open Inventory will open the inventory item selected for you to view / change
      • CheckBoxCheckedBlue Show options dialog on orders will allow users to select / deselect items on a Sales Order in the Select Options dialogue box (alternatively, they can be removed / added directly in the new Sales Order): SalesOrderMacroSelectOptions
        • flag which items are to be inserted, or Select All Select None at the bottom
        • note Total of Extended Price for all components listed at the bottom
